How to get from Split to Dubrovnik

If you’re travelling from Split to Dubrovnik, you have a few travel options. For travellers on a budget, the bus is the cheapest way to travel from Split to Dubrovnik, although potentially the longest. There are no trains operating this route and the ferry is limited to April-October just 3 times a day in high season. There is only one direct flight from Split to Dubrovnik, leaving mid-day. The fastest way to travel from Split to Dubrovnik is by car and it is of course the best way to travel since it’s so convenient.

Unfortunately, there are no trains connecting Split to Dubrovnik so traveling this route by train is impossible!

Split to Dubrovnik by bus

To travel from Split to Dubrovnik by bus, you’ll first need to get to Split Omnibusbahnhof. You’ll need to buy your tickets or purchase them in advance online to Dubrovnik Busbahnhof. The earliest bus is at 2:35AM, and the last bus is at 8:30PM. Buses from Dubrovnik to Split are run mostly by Flixbus, with bus tickets from Dubrovnik to Split costing about €8-19 for the on average 4 hour trip. You’ll have to cross the border at Bosnia as well, which can increase the length of the trip by an hour or so. The distance from Dubrovnik to Split is about 225 kilometers.

Split to Dubrovnik by Ferry

During the high season, you can take a direct ferry from the ferry port at Split to Dubrovnik. In the late Spring there is only 1 departure per day, while mid-Summer offers 3. The ferry is operated by Kapetan Luka or Jadrolinija, and a ticket for the 4.5 to 6 hour trip costs €28.

Split to Dubrovnik Flight

To travel by plane, you need to get to Dubrovnik International Airport. As usual with flights, you’ll want to buy your tickets in advance. The only flight leaves at 12:20PM.For travelling such a short distance, only direct flights make sense. The plane tickets cost around €54 for the 50 minute flight from Dubrovnik to Split. It’s recommended to arrive at the airport 2 hours before the flight, making this comparably long to traveling by car or bus, although additional fees may apply for baggage.

Split to Dubrovnik Private Car Transfer
