Traveling from Lisbon to Lagos

Both Lagos and Lisbon are vibrant and historically significant cities in Portugal. Captivating cultural traditions and impressive landmarks mean both cities have plenty to offer travelers on both short and long visits, and you can expect to remember your time in either. Between Lagos and Lisbon are some exceptional sights, including the magnificent Ponta de Piedade, the Medieval Silves Castle,  the salty fortress Alcacer do Sal, the charming town of Palmela, the artistic Bacalhoa Winery, and the gigantic statue of Christ the King. However, the only way to experience these in the best way is to book a private car transfer with Daytrip.

About Lagos

This ancient Algarve town might be a small one but it preserves over 2000 years of history which covers civilizations from Romans to Byzantines. Imagine a town so ancient that it had Europe’s first slave market. Today, it’s a much nicer place to be, where you can have fun in so many different ways, from bar crawls and booze cruises to scuba diving and surfing.

The long history of Lagos is well-preserved and the walks you’ll take around its Old Town will be going through outstanding landmarks. Castelo dos Governadores, a 10th-century Moorish castle turned museum, and historic churches with Baroque architecture like the Church of Antonio and the Church of Santa Maria will take you back in time and leave you mesmerized.

The lovely Old Town of Lagos is best visited after enjoying a day at one of its plentiful and beautiful beaches. With a vast coastline, you're spoiled for choice. Head to Meia Praia for volleyball and beach bars, or to more secluded beaches like the cliff-covered coves of Ponta da Piedade and Praia da Dona Ana.
