Europe’s top 6 fall festivals for 2025

Early fall is one of the best seasons for upcoming festivals and events! That being said, we've put together a list of some of Europe's best events that you'll be dying to check out. Read on for a list of our favorites.

1. Regata Storicia,Venice September 7, 2025

The Regata Storica dates back to the 13th century and features a colorful parade in 16th-century-style boats before the race.

The Regata Storicia is a local annual event. It celebrates a truly unique sport that has been practiced for thousands of years. 16th century style boats, pageantry, and costumes can be seen in a set of four famous races up the Grand Canal. You can watch the Regata Storica in floating stalls set up along the canal. Alternatively, you can opt to find your own spot along the canal and stand to watch the festivities. The event boasts a colorful, festive atmosphere with a douse of local history.

2. Budapest Wine Fest, Hungary September 11-14, 2025

Held in Buda Castle, the Wine Fest lets you sip over 100 Hungarian wines with panoramic views of the Danube.

Budapest's 25th International Wine Festival is a tribute to Hungarian wine. It features the best vino from the country's 22 wine regions. The festival gives one the perfect opportunity to taste some award-winning Hungarian wines. It features an eclectic combination of concerts, cultural programs, wine auctions, arts festivals, street food, and children's activities as well!

3. Durkheimer Wurstmarkt, Bad Durkheim Germany September 12 - 16 and 19 - 22 2025

The festival is held beside the world’s largest wine barrel, big enough to hold over 1.7 million liters, though it now houses a wine tavern instead!

Durkheimer Wurstmarkt (Bad Durkheim) is the largest wine festival in the world. It features 9 nights of fairgrounds, rides, wine, sausage markets, music, sausage markets and food tents. An official parade and keg tapping kicks off the start of the 600th festival on September 9th, 2016. It's a festival that's fun for all ages.

4. Oktoberfest, Munich Germany September 20 to October 5

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival, pouring over 7 million liters of beer each year.

Oktoberfest is the largest beer festival in the world. It boasts fair rides, carnival games, music, food, and 14 main beer tents. The first Oktoberfest was held as a marriage ceremony in 1810. Since then, the festivities in Munich, Germany have continued on to present day. Oktoberfest begins with a parade through the city on September 17th at 11:00AM.

5. Festival Musica de Strasbourg, France September 19th to October 5th 2025

Strasbourg’s Musica Festival focuses on contemporary classical music and often includes world premieres by modern composers.

Festival Musica de Strasbourg was created in 1983 in Strasbourg, a city of culture. It's a prestigious classical music festival that recognizes young emerging artists and established composers. The festival is made up of 800 composers from over 50 nationalities. Festival Musica de Strasbourg promotes the creation of new ideas and the relationship between music and the arts.

6. Cafe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, Hungry,October 2nd to October 18th 2025

This festival showcases Budapest’s avant-garde side, blending music, dance, visual art, and design.

Cafe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival 2016 will be focusing on Bela Bartok, a Hungarian-born composer whose life and works are a source of inspiration for many local and international artists. The festival has over 100 programs at over 40 venues. It features many different music genres, dance, theatre, and circus performances, and well as exhibitions and galleries.

7. Festival of Lights Berlin, Germany, October 8th to October 15th 2025

Berlin transforms into an open-air light gallery, with iconic landmarks illuminated by artists from around the world.

The Festival of Lights is one of the best-known light festivals in the world. Both national and international artists present light installations on buildings, monuments, and landmarks across the city that draw attention, stories, and history. The 11th annual festival takes place over 10 nights in Berlin, Germany and is truly a sight to see.
